Hotfix 1.9 does NOT fix Coldfusion DSN creation

New Install of 6.1 + Hotfix 1.9
Coldfusion 6.1 with latest Updates
Windows 2003 SP1

When you attempt to create a ¬coldfusion¬ dsn, it errors out with an ERROR 500 message, just like it did before. So this has not been corrected in Hotfix 1.9 or there is additional settings that need to be adjusted like possibly registry permissions for example.

If you are getting this error Error: 70600020 : Unable to add ODBC DSN[Enable 'Show User Friendly Http Error Messages' option in your browser Settings'] then please check following things:

1- CF is enabled on HC Administration Site in IIS
2- CF service is running
3- HC works locally as http://localhost:8077.
4- Add a DWORD Key Named "DebugDSN" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Advanced Communications\Nt Web Hosting Controller\General" and give its value as 1.
5-. Now add CFMX DSN from the control panel. A log will be created at \Program Files\Advanced Communications\Hosting Controller\web\admin\Logs\HCDSN.csv"

Please send this HCDSN.csv file as attachments to support@hostingcontroller.com. That debugging information can help us a lot in locating this problem.

I tried the DebugDSN registry entry and its not creating the csv debug file.

I opened the ADD DSN link into a new browser window, and type in the info and submitted, it goes to

http://localhost:8077/dsn/DSNActions.asp?DSNAction=AddDSN&iconwebsite=&cfmxdsn=1

And produces a HTTP 500 - Internal server error

CFM is configured for the Hosting Administrator website.

W2003 works, W2003 SP1 doesn¬t

Restart IIS to unlock this dll

--- Replace new dll at this path. X:\Program Files\Advanced Communications\Hosting Controller\dll

--- Command To Register New Dll: (X:\Program Files\Advanced Communications\Hosting Controller\dll regsvr32 AdvDSN.dll)
