Directory Browsing
Something that’s always got me about hc is directory browsing
Have you noticed hc only shows the file name and no other info like date, size etc :)
Now after some research i've found the solution :)
Under the site settings in the IIS metabase hc puts
DirBrowseFlags="EnableDirBrowsing | EnableDefaultDoc"
Which enables browsing and displays the file name
Now this is what it should be
DirBrowseFlags="EnableDirBrowsing | DirBrowseShowDate | DirBrowseShowTime | DirBrowseShowSize | DirBrowseShowExtension | DirBrowseShowLongDate | EnableDefaultDoc"
The above gives you IIS default browsing which gives date, size etc etc
Suggestion HC make directory browsing show as the IIS defualt or give an option to configure what can be shown.
Anyways if that’s a bug which you've never been able to solve, fire up metaedit or open the metabase file in notepad and find the incorrect entry, you can search using the incorrect code HC puts in, then replace with the IIS standard code. Restart IIS and your done :)
Hope you enjoy this little fix guys and i hope hc add it into v7
Update. Corrected some bad english, must have had too many pints :)
