Browser detection, whats your opinion?

Dear friends,

Just a small suggestion...  HC supports browsers IE, Firefox and Chrome. Firefox they need to adjust some buttons that dont fit, I was told this issue would be solved will be fixed in one of our forth coming builds.

One suggestion, as sometimes uers try to use a non supported browser, and its not clear to them. Id consider:

1) On login page briefly mentioning supported browsers (IE8, Firefox2+, Chrome)

2) Having some auto detect script, if unsupported browser, inform user.

What do you think?

Thanks,
Flavio

Well I hate firefox because it respond very slow and usually suffered with cache problem.
For me IE and chrome is the best browser.

Thanks, Patrick. But this post is not about what is each ones prefered browser :) Its about something else, its about usability, making it clear to users which browsers work.

Well I do agree that atleast there should be note on HC login page where it shows prefer/recommended Browser to access HC panel.
Even host should allow to modify the login page and set the comments for their customer.

Maybe a trick possible at these location ;)

I have tried to reproduce the edit template issue using firefox on HC demo server but maybe I am following the wrong direction as I am unable to see the issue. You can see in attach pic.
Can you please show us step by step instruction to see the issue.

    Hi,

Yes. That happens in several places. Also not sure if it persists but sometimes difficulties in firefox to select a radio button like in list users, have to click several times, etc.

    Thanks!
