SSL Certs

Will HC7 have a way to request and load SSL certificates? This would be a great feature.

Think thats been requested before, anyways a feature which is needed these days, ecomerce etc

Yes we will support dedicated SSL certificates but it will not be available in first HC7 release.

Does that mean we will be able to request and then install a cert directly from HC? That would be great.

Let me explain you how it will work with panel. HC will request for the certificate, collect the certificate after the webhost has done payment from the site and then install it if the collected certificate can be automatically installed on site. This is how HC will be integrating with Instant SSL. Do you have any suggestion please let us know.

Could you also give the option to generate the request and allow the user to copy the text, or download the file. Then give a text box where I could paste in the text from the cert file(or upload a .cer file). This is what I do now when I request a cert thru superb.net only I do it from IIS. Streamlining converting a domain from ipless to IP would be great as well. Many users start with a ipless site and then want ecommerce so I change them to an static ip.

What if we don't want to use Instant SSL? Some of the clients wants to use geotrust. Can we have an option to download the CSR and upload the cert when it's ready?

Currently I cann't commit anything about "GeoTrust" support because "Instant SSL" is at priority in our to - do list and we have to support it first.

FYI: HC8 provided dedicated SSL support of  Global Sign  company.
