HC remoting service failed

At 12:00 PM the following happend:

Application popup: Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library : Runtime Error!

Program: ...ions\hosting controller 7c\web\bin\hcremotingservice.exe


This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.

After this happend I was not even able to load HC Panel
When I checked my services list HC remoting service was stopped
Started service and now everything seems fine

The Hosting Controller Remoting Service service terminated unexpectedly. It has done this 1 time(s).
The Hosting Controller Remoting Service service was successfully sent a start control.
The Hosting Controller Remoting Service service entered the running state.

Does anyone know were I can find more log information to troubleshoot why this happend in the first place.
This is the first time I have ever seen this error and I want to make sure it doesn't happen again

It happened to me twice. I had to re-start the service. When checked with the Live support, they didn'y answer me, instead asked me to re-start the service.

I set windows to auto restart the service if it is too fail and I never had a problem again.

For any process in windows you can set up to 3 Recovery options

In Windows go to:
Control Panel ---> Administrative Tools ---> Services

In Services it will list all the services that run on your server

To set your recovery options:
Right click the service you want to properties - Then go to the Recovery tap
You can set the options you want from there

I Personally set all my services to "Restart the Service" for first failure. I just forgot to set it for HC that's why it went down on me that day, it wouldn't have if I had that option set.

Having your Recovery options set fixes must problems :-)

It might be possible there was some exception occured on your server which was the reason to stop HC remoting service. If your remoting service is crashing regularly then please contact hc support with your server access to debugg this issue in detail. Thanks
