Windows Server 2008 compatiblity issue with MSDE

Is there way to get around the  Windows Server 2008 compatiblity issue with MSDE during the installation

    If you can successfully install MSDE database engine on windows 2008 machine , then HC will work with it for sure..

    Hi,
        MSDE doesnt work on Windows Server 2008, because MSDE is very old. The best way is that you should use MS SQL EXPRESS 2005 or 2008.

    How to  determine the  version and service pack of MSDE i have? anyone can help me?

    Execute this command in Sql Query Analyzer 
    select @@version

    If you don't have interface to access MSDE Engine then download this free utility http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=c243a5ae-4bd1-4e3d-94b8-5a0f62bf7796&displaylang=en
