Control Panel Login page not found

At the end of the HC8 installation, the Control Panel Login page (http://127.0.0.1:8787) is supposed to show up.  Internet Explorer does start and attempt to load http://127.0.0.1:8787, but the page does not load.  I looked inside IIS but could find no evidence of a web site for HC8 having been installed.  What do I do?

*By the way, ServerManagerCMD.exe has been deprecated. Now you must use the following from an Elevated PowerShell Prompt:

  "import-module servermanager"
  "Get-WindowsFeature | Format-Table -autosize"

As you are running 64 bit OS sometime user could face same problem if IIS is running in 32 bit Mode. HC requirement on 64 bit OS is to use IIS in 64 bit mode.

ASP.NET 2.0, 64-bit version
To run the 64-bit version of ASP.NET 2.0, follow these steps:
1.    Click Start, click Run, type cmd, and then click OK.

2.    Type the following command to disable the 32-bit mode:
cscript %SYSTEMDRIVE%\inetpub\adminscripts\adsutil.vbs SET W3SVC/AppPools/Enable32bitAppOnWin64 0

3.    Type the following command to install the version of ASP.NET 2.0 and to install the script maps at the IIS root and under:
%SYSTEMROOT%\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v2.0.50727\aspnet_regiis.exe -i

4.    Make sure that the status of ASP.NET version 2.0.50727 is set to Allowed in the Web service extension list in Internet Information Services Manager.

I uninstalled HC8, followed the instructions within the Microsoft KB article, cycled the IIS and WWW Publishing service, made sure that the 64-bit version of ASP.NET v2.0.50727 was allowed to run in IIS7's 'ISAPI and CGI Restrictions' section (it's no longer found within the 'Web Service Extension List' like it was in IIS6), installed HC8 using Administrator rights, and received the same results as before.

I have the same identical problem.......

The error normally shows up when ASP.NET 2.x with 64 bit is not installed on HC8 website in IIS7.
 
We had the same problems as you are facing on our Windows 2008 machine but got it resolved by following these steps:

1. We uninstalled HC8.
2. And then followed these instructions as mentioned in this kb before installing HC8: http://portal.hostingcontroller.com/KB/a69/unable-to-login-in-hc-after-fresh-installation.aspx

 

If you could paste HCInstallation logs here then I may help you too. The InstallationLog can be found under C:\Program Files\Advanced Communications\HostingController\Logs on your server where you have installed HC panel.
 
We also encountered such issues initially while setting up HC8 but were helped marvelously by HC Support team , so should also avail installation opportunity since the offer is free and they would charge you not even a single cent for HC installation on your server.
