New Server Install - Any preference on Linux Distro?

Now that we have HC 9 installed we are about to launch our first shared Linux server.
 
As we are not particulary fussed about which distro to use is there a particular flavour of Linux that HC would recommend as being best fit? We have used Red Hat, Ubuntu, Centos, Fedora and SUSE over the years and we still dont have a favorite (but Ubuntu does come close!)
 
We are also thinking of using the CloudLinux addin as a way of controlling the resources if that helps!
 
Is it just a case of installing a fresh Linux distro with the Web Server and FTP options enabled, install HC and then add this into the Cluster to get started or is there more to it than that with us having to edit rhe Apache config file?
 
Any suggestions are welcome, but a walk through would be a god send!

Base on my experience with HC Linux performance Debian OS is recommended and my second choice would be Centos 6.x.
There is no need to modify apache file with HC linux installation.
