Folder Quota
Hello,
Not many people may be aware that Microsoft has introduced Directory quota with Windows 2003 R2. Till now we used the native user volume quota system which was quite problematic considering the Shared Hosting industry where you have to restrict the quota of each website. With Windows 2003 R2 this problem has been resolved as Microsoft has come up with the directory quota system where you can actually restrict the quota for a directory. So, if a directory is assigned 100 MB, you can have only data up to 100 MB inside that directory including the files and the sub-directories. This is a boon to the Web Hosting industry as far as the Windows hosting is concerned. The same is also available in Windows 2008. More details are available in
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserver2003/R2/storage/default.mspxNow my question is how Hosting Controller is planning to use this feature in its Disk Quota management. I believe, Hosting Controller is using the native Disk Quota System of Windows. I recommend Hosting Controller to update the HC 7 to use this feature. Doing this will be a great thing for all the Hosting Providers who use HC.
Any Suggestions?
