Are you guys typically installing web edition or standard 2003 for your standalone webservers?

HC7 is supported on all Windows Server 2003 editions and don't have any limitation. Your machine can be a stand alone machine or part of the cluster.

I'm only talking web. I don't put more than one service on a box.

We do support Windows 2003 Server Web Edition on stand alone machine but Microsoft has some limitations in using it with SQL Server. Please check this page for reference.

"Organizations cannot use Windows Server 2003 Web Edition, to deploy Microsoft SQL Server, other than SQL Server 2005 Express Edition."
