DNS only plan
When will you be releasing a DNS only plan? We have several customers that only need DNS and Mail.

Yeah they also told us that it will be included in build9. I need this feature with my Exchange hosting plan.

what actually is DNS only plan?

a plan where the customer has access to only DNS editor - mostly when they have dedicated serveres or are simply "parking domains" that are not in use. But mostly when they are hosing themself and buying domains from us.
like if you are buying domains from eNom or someone. Then you maybe also use eNom' DNS serveres but you are running servers yourself - just no DNS service.

In our case it's to host DNS for our email only plan. What a giant oversight that HC didn't provide DNS with the email hosting plan.

isn't that better to host mail only domain dns at domain registrar level instead of hosting it on own dns server ?

You can do that if you need to. It doesn't work that way for us. We have a large VMWare installation. Most of our customers are just email only plans and lease a VM. We need to keep the DNS in our system. Not with a registrar.

you might also actually BE the registrar - then there are nobody else to use.
and also - why use other companys DNS servers in one case and your own in an other - HC can handle domains, DNS servers so no need for this double administration.

agreed. Not to mention the need to migrate customers from one server to another from time to time. We still have retired servers with only a handful of customers on them because we can't get them to change their DNS to our new environment.

Any news on this HC? I really want to shut down our Plesk Expand servers! Is there a beta 9 out now?

We are enrolled in HC Beta Testing, so far didn't receive any beta link for test.
