Error 70500370 after install

Hi

I and a new user and have installed HC7 the install seemed to go smoothly BUT the login page will not let me logon to configure the server. Trowing up an error 70500370

My Box is
P4 3gig x2
Win2003 server SP1
mailenable installed
php 5.1.4 installed
MySql 5

Any Idea's

Please make sure about following things:

1- You can connect to the HC Database through ODBC Connection using the username and password given in HC registry for following keys at this path HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Advanced Communications\HostingController\General.

DBServerIP
DBUserID
DBUserPassword


2- All HC7 Services are running on your machine.
3- HC server must be registered through the first IP of the first network card on your machine. You can set the priority of IP from the LAN Settings à Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) à TCP/IP Properties à Advanced à IP Settings.

4- If there is firewall Installed on machine, then refer to the article to check which ports should be kept open in firewall settings.


If after checking all above mentioned steps, still you can not login to HC panel, then please contact HC Support for resolution.

Tried all that and still no luck

Tried ODBC used user and pass from registry connection test success

All services are running except "Hosting Controller client" which is manual.

and as far as I can tell no ports are blocked.

Any other ideas

Please check, can you see your server listed at this path HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Advanced Communications\HostingController\Servers in registry as registered server?

If you started to instal HC7 with MSDE than uninstall HC7 restart youre machine and reinstall HC7 than it works fine..

If you first install HC7 with MSDE HC7 is trying to create the DB before the MSSQL server is running so it is actualy NOT creating the DB but continous without promting an error. Afther uninstal restart and install you will be fine!!

I'm having the exact same problem at the moment.

Maybe I should have read the "Its better to contact support dept" first....

I tried to uninstall and got a Component transfer error - catastrophic error

Now I can't uninstall or reinstall

what do / can I do now?

Followed the instructions in the FAQ and removed forcefully... worked OK

Rebooted

Re-installed HC7 made sure MS SQL was picked.. Added all passwords etc, Installed without error...

Try to log on to configure back to SQUARE ONE with the same error message 70500370.

I re-booted tried again and no logon

Have looked at the event log and saw nothing obvious


What am I missing?

BTW MSSQL version 2000

Any more tips would be appreciated

Support has replied you some hrs before. You are facing above issue with HC installation because you have some strange restrictions on server's registry. Please fix it and then install HC.

Hi,
I have the same problem in the installation with MSSQL 2005. If HC requires any "special perms" on the registry then HC Installer should be resolve this, right?

My cent for a better HC! :)
