Serv-U Version 8

How are we doing on this. I heard you were getting it completed. I want to renew my support for serv-u but not if I can't use it.

Well, this is in our To-Do list but the problem is that we're not getting positive response from Surv-U management. And by that time, I can not give you an ETA on Serv-U 8 integration with Hosting Controller.

They already told me because I have been pushing them hard. There is no interface or means to provision outside of their product. They don't plan at this time to enhance it with their api's. It really tweaks me off too because I liked their product. The new product is very nice but if I can't use it in the real world then it "****". They have left themselves out of the real work business solutions with this blunder too. No corporation is going to manually administer 1000's of ftp accounts. What are they nutzz !!!

I hope RhinoSoft gets it through their head that they are part of an industry and should play nice with others.

What is a good product to use. Gene6 has an opportunity here to step up and add some functionality similar to Serv-U and smoke them off the map. Any suggestions for a good FTP server. I am not fond of Serv-U 6.

I did search on net and found that other control panels are also not supporting ServU 7/8.... This mean ServU out of business now.

This is the best time for Gene6 distribution to raise their business..lolx

what about filezilla ? This is an up in coming product. Something about Gene6 doesn't turn me on. I need features, function, goodies :)

What made you think that filezilla is more better than Gene6 ?

Nothing just looking at alternatives. making suggestions.

This is a great news, now I can finally switch from MS-ftp into ServU new version.

@HC when integration is expected ?

Finally we can upgrade our older version of ServU 6.4 . Please integrate latest version ASAP.

Currently we are in negotiation with RhinoSoft for integration of latest version of Serv-U and as soon as we come to some conclusion, we will publicly announce it.

Meanwhile, we would appreciate if you people can come up with alternative options. Please post suggestions directly here or send email to support@hostingcontroller.com with subject "Integration Request". Hosting Controller, as always will try to offer best available 3rd-party solutions to its customers.
 

If there is no chance for using ServU then the best option is FileZilla Server.

It is free and a very good FTP server,
