Cannot login as “hcadmin” after fresh HC8 installation on Windows2008 r2.

Cannot login as “hcadmin” after fresh HC8 installation on Windows2008 r2.
The database is created alright, so is the hc website.
In the HC database, there is only one user, hcadmin, but the passoword field is blank (no password was created?).
I have been following instruction from the thread: (link removed).
(ArticleID 69, created on 12/30/2009)   - no help.
Am I missing something?
(Windows 2008 R2, MSSQL 2008 R2, HC8 v11)

    The password field is populated in HC if user login into HC panel. Try to login into HC panel by first re-setting its password with the help of this link: http://portal.hostingcontroller.com/KB/a107/how-to-reset-hc-host-password.aspx

    I have the same issue as above, except I can not reset the password with the utility. The ustility doesnt work on the HC server as the SQL server is remote. I can not run the utility on the SQL server as .Net is not installed there (or iis).
    This SQL server is in our live environment and IIS or .NET will not be installed in it. is there another way to set the password in the DB field?
