HC Controller Blank Loading

What would be ausing this issue with the blank screen?

See screenshot. IIS service is running, services is running, settings exe has the correct information...

index.asp and default.asp are still default documents...

security for website states AdvWebAdmin as annon user and IIS controls password

AdvWebAdmin is a user under local users and groups and it part of the administrators group (although i think it should be a part of another admin user group)

administrators still have full control over the web admin folder

ideas?

Strange, we had the EXACT same issue on a server we hadnt touched in ages. I could swear its a hack attempt but HC says no - they logged on and made changes to db and fixed.

Would it be safer to run hc on a different default port?

I would imagine that reloading this would fix this.

Well so much for reinstalling I got these error when I removed and tried to reinstall the application.

HC,

we have had this hack twice on our network - 2 different servers.

What workaround for this hack? How to avoid this until HC comes out with a fix?

To fix blank page issue please open HC database table ‘AdminProp‘ , search for ‘SkinId‘ under 'PropName' column then delete the entire row. Now search for other rows and delete one by one.

We have written a DOS command line script to remove access to all HC files and folders. If we need to do something in the control panel we run a second script to allow us temporary access. A poor solution, but one that works for us.

HC, thats not a workaround to the problem - that corrects the issue after you're hacked.

Our question was what workaround we have to avoid being victims of this specific hack.

HC slow and poor attention to these vulnerabilities is definately not good PR for you.

I have same problem hosting controller admin is showing blank page for all the domains. As per your earlier instructions I Opened HC database, and inside table ‘ Admin_Prop ‘ , searched for ‘SkinId‘ under PropName column, but failed to locate any record.

Please help me.

Once in a while this works for me.
instead of going to /admin go to /admin/main.asp it will give you a session expired with the relogin popup. login to the popup and this will put you in the panel. you can change the theme at that time. if it doesn't fix the issue then search for the SkinID prop and either manually change it or delete it. I've found by changing it to the PixelOne::Red it usually takes.
