sql2000 restore from backup issues

have a client who is moving a sql2000 database to the server so he send a .bak backup file. So can I simply restore this database backup to this server?

I placed the backup in the db folder, went to restore and navigated to the folder, selectewd the backup and it said "Success: Restore started, it may take time depending on database size."

It is only a 2 mb database. So it shouldnt take more and a few minutes. Nothing has appeared. I have no other sql databases created and the quota is set for 2.

Any ideas?
