I'm not install Sql 2008 client, so I will try.
 
But when I install .NET Framework 4.0 before install HC,
It's failed for ".NET installation requirement".
WHY? is it bug??

You must have to have at least .NET 2.x installed on your server prior to HC installation. Are you facing this .NET4.x requirement issue while trying to install HC8 installer on your server?

As HC8 license holder from last year.
Having usage on chinese mssql server 08 , it needs the 2k8-client pack installed or not work.
 
Forget to say,better install 2k8-cleint and the prerequisite before installation ofl the mssql 08 server/R2.
Seem the right way to save more time.
