301 Redirect setup.

Until now ive put additional domains (such as having xxxxxx.co.uk and xxxxxx.com) under the host headers, however this doesnt work as well with SEO.  Ideally id like to setup a 301 redirect.  Is this what the redirection URL does, and is there a way to do this without setting up a complete new hosting package each time? else i presume id have to create a plan with no webspace etc to sell for a redirect url.

Many Thanks

Templates in ticketing system

Hi,

It would be really nice if we could define some templates in HC8 ticketing system, with some standard responses that we can use when replying a customer.

BTW, if I integrate with some other ticketing system as HC permits, how does it work? Does it fully integrate just like HCs internal system, send customer ticket #, track tickets via web, etc? What option do you guys recommend?

Thanks.

about 1 clickers quota

Friends,

I have a few 1 clickers enabled in my panel.

1) Webadmins see 1 clickers they dont have quota for. is it possible to hide the icons of 1 clickers they dont have quota for?

2) If I enable a new 1 clicker, is it possible to enable it with a certain quota (unlimited, for example) in all my plans? Or I have to go 1 by 1 on my dozens of plans to fix this and add quota to the new 1 clicker?

Thanks.

windows file permissions - write access

hi

Im not sure how to understand the permissions and users the websites are running as/on. Each website gets its own app pool to isolate them, but it seams they are running all as "network service". This is a bit annoying when looking at the process list since its impossible to see what website is using the CPU if something is using alot/all.

Thats one thing - the other is permissions. I was reading a forum post that the pool is started as "network service" but its really running as the websites annonymous user. How is this setup?

I see my customers "fix" the missing write permisssions by allowing "network service" full access - this im sure is not the best idea. If I understand the other forumpost correct then the actual real best way to let the website write the folders and files is to give write/full permisssions to the website annonymous user, correct?

or what to do? whats the correct and safe way to give write/full permissions to the website and still make sure that its not possible to access/write other websites files?

1 clickers virtual directory

Hi,

I noticed that HC creates a virtual directory such as www.mydomain.com/mycustomer-com, so customer can easily test his site before migrating to our hosting.

The thing is, if customer installs a 1 clicker, not sure why, but HC installs it to /special and since the virtual directory points to WWW, it doesnt work, I have to change the virtual directory for the customer.

Not sure if this can be improved somehow, perhaps lettig admin change 1 clicker behaviour and make them be installed to WWW (as was in HC6) or maybe create 2 virtual directories, or yet, create the vir dir pointing to the root so user can type /www or /special/...

Thanks.

Always updated 1 clickers - Softaculous

Hi, everyone

HC was very helpful to show me how to update 1 clickers such as joomla and wordpress, but it requires manual work. So until the next HC build is released, users have to manually update the 1 clickers.

Id like to suggest a solution called SOFTACULOUS, used by other panels. Its really nice, as its ALWAYS updated with the latest version of all 1 clickers and gives an even wider range of options.

Thanks.

PS - by any chance, did anyone here try to update joomla via upload package? For me it fails and the trace logs are huge. I have to do it either via FTP/URL or an option in Joomla where it connects and updates itself automatically, which is fine and even easier.
